Try this healthy version of a popular candy.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (20g) unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 tbsp light coconut milk
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 small pinch salt
- 15g dark chocolate
Instructions
- If the coconut oil is solid, melt it in the microwave for a few seconds.
- Mix coconut flakes, coconut milk, coconut oil, honey and salt.
- Place a sheet of plastic wrap on your working surface. Place the coconut mixture on top of it.
- Fold the plastic wrap over the mixture and shape mixture into a bar.
- Cut the bar in half and shape the edges of both halves.
- Place the 2 bars in the freezer 15 to 20 minutes to harden.
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave.
- With the back of a teaspoon spread the chocolate on the bottom of each bar. Let the chocolate solidify.
- Turn the bars around and spread the chocolate over the uncovered areas. Let solidify.
- Keep in the fridge.
Yields: 2 bars
